How many slots can a rack have?
Peak Racks are available in a variety of sizes from 1 to 8 bike slots and larger racks can be made to order.
-
What are the coating options?
Peak Racks can be powdercoated or hot dipped galvanized. All powder coated racks are sand blasted, primed, and color coated. Some color options also receive a clear coat.
-
What colors do they come in?
Our most common colors are Rust Brown and Forrest Green, but you may choose almost any color to satisfy your needs.
-
What about shipping and delivery?
Campus Racks in sizes 3 slot and less can be shipped UPS. Racks with 4 slots or more are shipped common carrier. Larger orders of galvanized Campus Racks are delivered via private truck usually at no extra charge.
-
Can the high/low configuration of a Peak Rack be specified so I can get one rack with a high slot on the far right side and another rack with a low spot on the far right side?
Yes, you can specify the configuration of the high and low slots to have what you need at the ends of the rack. Standard odd number slot racks are made with fewer high slots, but can be ordered to have fewer low slots.
-
Can a Peak Rack be bolted directly to the ground?
Yes, but we recommend placing a spacer under it to help keep debris from collecting at the base. A 1/2 to 3/4 inch galvanized spacer is recommended. E-mail us if you need some for your installation.
-
If I only want a couple slots on a 5-slot Home Rack to have locking bars is that possible?
Yes, just tell us which slots you want to have locking bars.
-
If I am placing two Peak Racks end to end and bolting them to the concrete, how much space should I leave between the ends?
You will need a minimum of 12 inches in between racks to keep the proper handlebar spacing. In an extremely tight situation 10 inches would suffice.
-
If I am installing Peak Racks on Asphalt what should I use as an anchor?
We recommend 3/8 inch diameter galvanized spikes 12 inches long. The pilot hole for the spike should be no larger than 5/16 inch diameter and should be drilled at a 10-15 degree angle.
-
Could I get a 16-slot rack if I wanted?
Yes you could, but we would recommend against it. Because it is 20 feet long, it is difficult to handle and transport. We would recommend two 8-bike racks. They can be moved around, stacked, and transported much easier.
